Can a Rhode Island pedestrian accident victim still make a claim when crossing the street without a crosswalk?

When a pedestrian is struck by a vehicle, even if they are not in a crosswalk, often, blame can be placed upon the driver of the car that hit them for failing to see them, or for failing to slow in time. In addition, in Rhode Island, we have two types of crosswalks. Those that are marked on the roadway, and those that are unmarked. Almost every intersection in Rhode Island contains an unmarked crosswalk. So even if you think you weren’t in a crosswalk, you may be wrong, you could’ve been.
